How in the world did Tyrese Maxey return after such a nasty fall on his head?

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently playing the Utah Jazz down at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia. In the first half of the game, Tyrese Maxey left the game after taking a nasty fall under the rim. During a layup attempt, Maxey was knocked off balance mid air and wasn’t able to brace his fall, resulting in him slamming his head off the floor.
Tyrese Maxey slams his head after hard fall:
First of all, there was no foul called on the play. The game continued on for another possession while our guy Maxey laid on the ground, unable to get himself on his feet. Of course, Doc Rivers and the rest of the Sixers bench were unhappy with the officiating crew and rightfully so.
Somehow, Maxey was able to walk off smiling under his own power. Here’s a slideshow of Maxey after the fall. You would have thought at the very least, he was going to concussion protocol.
Amazingly, Maxey was in the locker room for all of five minutes before returning in the second quarter. He checked in for the final two minutes of play, even scoring in the final seconds of the half. We always knew he was a tough kid, he proved it once again.
Sixers trail the Jazz at the half, 61-54.
