76ers Preview: Contain Steph Curry, walk away with a win at home

The Golden State Warriors are in South Philly tonight to face our beloved Philadelphia 76ers. Tonight is actually a pretty simple game to preview. If the Sixers can slow down Stephen Curry, they have a chance to win the game. Unfortunately, that is no easy task.
The Warriors, led by Curry, are off to an NBA-best record of 21-4. The Sixers on the other hand, are currently in seventh in the Eastern Conference at 14-12. The Sixers will enter tonight pretty healthy, which is definitely a positive for them given the fact that Joel Embiid has missed 10 games so far this season. Embiid missed the last game against the Warriors while he was out in health and safety protocols.
The Sixers pounced on the Warriors in the first half and got out to a 19 point lead before Golden State came back in the second half and beat them handedly by a final score of 116-96. Seth Curry led the way with 24 points with Tyrese Maxey right behind him at 19 points. Other than that, no 76ers player hit double digits in that game besides Danny Green with 10 points off the bench.
Own the Paint:
Tonight, Embiid will be back in the starting lineup and I don’t see anyone on the Golden State Warriors roster that can stop him. Draymond Green is a great defender but lacks the size to slow down Embiid in the paint. If the 76ers want to win, obviously, Embiid has to be the centerpiece on offense.
Someone Please Help Embiid:
The 76ers need shots to fall. Last game at home against the Utah Jazz, they shot 6-for-33 from three point range for a miserable 18.2%. Furkan Korkmaz is dead. Danny Green was 0-5 from the floor, and the Sixers got run off the court in the second quarter of the game, being outscored 34-22. Seth Curry and Tobias Harris need to step up tonight if the Sixers want to stand a chance. It’s hard to rely on anyone outside of Embiid, Harris, and Curry to provide consistent offense so far this season.

Prediction
Damn. I have been ice cold betting the 76ers over the past week so please, proceed with caution. Things are going to get dark if the Sixers drop their second straight game at home. I really don’t see any value in the spread since its at +2.5 so if you’re taking the Sixers, definitely hit the money line. I do however, like the under at 212 simply because I don’t trust the 76ers to score points anymore.
Steph Curry Odds Boost
Worth noting that Parx Sportsbook is running an odds boost for the other Curry brother tonight. He is 10 three pointers away from the All-Time leading three point scorer in NBA history. A lot of people want this to happen and I admit it would be a cool sight to witness. However, no thank you. If Curry hits 10 three pointers we are doomed. I want a Sixers win to carry us through the weekend.
Seth Curry to make 10+ three point FG is +650 on the Parx Sportsbook app. Given those odds, might as well sprinkle a little cash on it just in case.
8:30pm tip-off tonight in South Philadelphia. Let’s make it happen, Sixers.
