Marc Zumoff discusses, the 76ers and Ben Simmons’ mental health issues

As the Philadelphia 76ers crash and burn, Marc Zumoff appeared on a Vox Media Podcast to discuss a wide variety of topics, including retirement, the current state of the 76ers, and yes, Benjamin Simmons.
Zumoff touched on the team’s defensive woes, leading into the discussion regarding Ben Simmons. Although he made it clear his information wasn’t sourced, Zumoff provided some unique insight into what occurred this past season against the Atlanta Hawks.
As we all know, Ben Simmons is not playing with the 76ers and according to his camp, the reasoning is that he is dealing with mental health issues. At the same time, Simmons refuses to provide the 76ers with medical information regarding the treatment he has been receiving, so the 76ers are fining him until he does that or rejoins the basketball team.
I don’t think it’s any secret that Ben Simmons has mental issues. He’s an All-NBA basketball player that refuses to shoot while on the court. Regardless, that’s such an exhausted topic that I am not diving into again, so let’s see what Zumoff had to say about it:
“I do believe Ben has some mental issues that he needs to address and it really became clear to me well before it became an issue with the media and the fans. I thought that his passing up of the dunk late in game seven against Atlanta was clearly a mental health issue.”
“I that hope Ben can address these issues it’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of.”
The entire Ben Simmons saga doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon. Fans are growing impatient by the day, even more so now with the Sixers playing like absolute dog shit without him.
Zumoff stated he believes Simmons won’t play for the franchise ever again, and that seems like the likeliest possibility at this time. The 76ers are in shambles with everyone struggling immensely outside of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Seth Curry.
On top of that, the new broadcasting crew has been everything but impressive, to say the very least. We miss you, Zoo. And yes, we miss Ben Simmons too.
