Danny Green enters health & safety protocols, 76ers/Hawks in jeopardy of postponement

Danny Green joins the list of 76ers to enter health and safety protocols after testing positive late last night and this morning, according to his podcast co-host Harrison Sanford.
It was also confirmed by Sanford that Green is fully vaccinated and received his booster shot as well.
76ers Injury/COVID List
Green is now the fourth 76er to enter protocols, he joins Andre Drummond, Georges Niang, and Shake Milton. Even with the signings of Myles Powell and Tyler Johnson, this puts Philadelphia in jeopardy of fielding enough players to play tomorrow night.
Along with the four players who are out with COVID, the Sixers had three other players miss last game due to injury. Tyrese Maxey (quadriceps), Furkan Korkmaz (Non-COVID Illness), and Jaden Springer (Concussion) all missed Monday night’s game in Boston and all three are listed as game time decisions for tomorrow night’s game.
Hawks Injury/COVID List
On the other side, Atlanta is potentially in a worse position. The Hawks currently have five players who are in health and safety protocols, including Trae Young, Clint Capela, and Danillo Gallinari. They are also without De’Andre Hunter who is missing time with a wrist injury, and Bogdan Bogdanovich who’s a game time decision.
Gorgui Dieng becomes the only center available for Atlanta with Capela out. In their desperation, they also signed Lance Stephenson from the G League in order to fill their roster enough to continue playing. The Hawks had their game on Sunday postponed, they’re scheduled to play the Magic tonight, and they currently sit at 14-15 which is good for the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference.
As it stands now, this game will have nine combined players out with COVID, and another five potentially missing this game with injury. With the NBA pushing to keep the season moving, and Christmas day coming up, it seems like this game will still happen, but it could be on thin ice depending on the next 24 hours.
Luckily for the Sixers they have had two days off, but the Hawks have to play and travel tonight and who knows what will happen between then and now. Obviously, we hope for the health and safety of all the players and coaches but there is an off chance that this game gets moved.
