Rumor: Jonathan Gannon could interview for head coach openings

The Philadelphia Eagles could be looking for a new defensive coordinator this offseason. According to Tom Pelissero, Jonathan Gannon is one of the six coordinators expected to be interviewed for head coaching opportunities this offseason.
Gannon had a rough start with the Eagles but has quickly turned things around these last few weeks.
There have been rumblings that Gannon wouldn’t remain with the Eagles long, but it’s surprising to see him potentially land a head coaching job this soon. The other notable names included Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
Last week, former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was linked to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coach opening. Jacksonville is the only opening currently, and Gannon was not included on their rumored shortlist.
The expected openings this offseason include the Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, and potentially the Minnesota Vikings or Denver Broncos.
Starting this season, the NFL is allowing teams to interview candidates virtually during the final two weeks of the regular season. It might be a stretch to see Gannon land one of those jobs this offseason, but don’t be surprised if he’s a top candidate next year.
