Pick Tracker: Eagles officially own two picks in top half of 2022 NFL Draft

Following yesterday’s games, the Eagles’ first-round picks from the Indianapolis Colts and the Miami Dolphins are now locked in. Philadelphia officially owns the 15th, and 16th picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.
A few weeks ago, both the Dolphins and Colts were projected to make the playoffs but suffered late-season crashes and were eliminated from playoff contention. The Colts had a 93% chance of making the playoffs eight days ago before losing two straight to the Raiders and Jaguars.
Indianapolis fell to Jacksonville 26-11, ending their season at 9-8. The Dolphins finished their year with a 9-8 record as well, beating the Patriots 33-24 at home.
Although the selections aren’t as high as initially projected, two mid-first picks are fantastic for what the Eagles moved. The Eagles went from the 6th pick to the 12th this past offseason, acquiring the Dolphins first in the process, and of course received the Colts’ first in exchange for Carson Wentz.
Picking in this area of the draft allows the Eagles chances at players like Nakobe Dean from Georgia and Tyler Linderbaum from Iowa.
The Eagles’ selection won’t be finalized until they are eliminated from the postseason. Currently, they hold the 19th selection, but that can change with a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next weekend, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
So with the draft now set in stone, we can turn our attention towards the upcoming Wild Card matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Thank you again to the Colts and Dolphins for choking their seasons away. We greatly appreciate it.
