Just over two weeks into the 2022 calendar year, we have our top candidate for Sports Mom of the Year with Donna Kelce. 

Yesterday, she started her day in Tampa, Florida to watch her son, Jason Kelce, play football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and ended her day in Kansas City, where she watched her other son, Travis Kelce play for the Chiefs.

Look, this is a feel good story about a mom supporting her sons playing football. I am not going to comment on how easy it must be for her to travel all over the country because both of her sons are millionaires and how it’s really not that impressive. Let’s just acknowledge this mother going above and beyond to support her kids and be happy for once.

The start of the day had to be rough for Donna, as she watched her son Jason and the Eagles get absolutely destroyed by Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. 

Kelce picked up a few penalties, the Bucs were leading 31-0 midway through the third quarter, and Jalen Hurts couldn’t get anything going behind her son, completing just 23-of-43 pass attempts for 258 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. 

The second leg of the trip for Donna Kelce was much better, as the Kansas City Chiefs dismantled the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning 42-21. 

Travis Kelce ended the night with five receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown. He also threw his first career touchdown pass.
