Flyers tie franchise record with 12th straight loss, but release a Gritty video game and celebrate Keith Yandle’s Iron Man record so everything is actually okay

Typically I shy away from the Philadelphia Flyers content on The Liberty Line. One, I don’t know much about hockey and two the Flyers are absolute dog shit.
I stopped watching the Flyers regularly years ago. I know a shitty franchise when I see one and already suffer through 162 games of Philadelphia Phillies baseball. I need to cut off the pain at some point, right?
Flyers tie franchise record with 12th straight loss
With a 3-1 loss to the Dallas Stars last night in South Philadelphia, the Flyers tied an all-time worst 12 game losing streak, previously held by the 1998-1999 team. The ’98-’99 during that streak went 0-8-4, with this years team being even worse, at 0-9-3.
The Flyers are dead last in the standings and haven’t won a game since December 29th. Carter Hart, the future of the franchise, hasn’t won since December 14th.
Meanwhile, the Flyers organization was busy celebrating Keith Yandle’s Iron Man record, appearing in his 964th straight regular-season game and launching some stupid Gritty themed Hot Dog eating game.
I would suggest “reading the room” and understanding how fall you have fallen into the pits of irrelevancy, Flyers, but what do I know?
It has never been easier to drive down 95 while a game is happening at the Wells Fargo Center. The Flyers faithful are simply not showing up anymore and how could anyone blame them? Last night, the Flyers couldn’t even fill the entire lower bowl of the Wells Fargo Center. Respect to the fans for refusing to waste money and watch the same, miserable hockey team time and time again.
The Philadelphia Flyers are a damaged product. Its a sports team run by a faceless, major corporation, Comcast Spectacor with little-to-no direction moving forward.
Blow the entire team up. No, I’m not a total moron calling for a complete rebrand and logo change like the rat that occupies a certain radio show on 97.5 The Fanatic. That is so stupid I refuse to discuss it any further.
Today, it was announced that John Torchetti will be added to the coaching staff. Chuck Fletcher hired him as the interim head coach in Minnesota in 2016 after he fired the now current head coach Mike Yeo.
Mike Yeo will still remain the Flyers head coach through the remainder of the season.
I don’t see this situation getting any better anytime soon. Something needs to happen to save the Flyers before the Union overtake them as the fourth major sports team in the city of Philadelphia.
