I’m here everyone, your gambling savior has finally arrived. Joe Pop aka Joey Props aka CEO Joe (RIP). Obliviously college football has come and gone. We only have seven short months until it’s back, but hey who’s counting? For now, we turn our attention to college basketball and tonight we have ourselves a gorgeous 2 unit play.

Boston College @ North Carolina (-13.5 o/u145.5)

North Carolina is a big betting favorite tonight against a bad Boston College team. BC is siting 9th in the ACC rankings and only as ONE road win on the season. Yikes.

Now to be fair, this UNC team isn’t the North Carolina we’re use to seeing. They’re only 5-3 in ACC play and their two pervious games prior to Monday’s win vs Virginia Tech, they got waxed by Miami (85-57) and Wake (98-76.)

Both of those loses came on the road though where North Carolina has had some troubles. Tonight’s contest however will be back at Chapel Hill where they are a perfect 10-0 this season and more importantly, they are 5-0 in their last 5 home games against the spread.

So let’s talk tonight’s line for this conference match up. -13.5 for the game is a big spread for a team that’s been up and down all season. I agree, which is why we’re not going to play the game spread tonight. (Even though I do think it might be worth a little sprinkle.)

Instead, we are going to turn our eyes to the first half spread.

I don’t like UNC tonight, I absolutely LOVE them.

These two teams last played three weeks ago at Boston College and the Tar Heels spanked BC 91-65.

The January 2nd match had North Carolina up at half by 29 points, 49-20. I’d expect a very similar result tonight and I’d feel comfortable playing this line all the way up to -9.5 or -10.

Boston College has proven all season long that they just start games slow, even games they win, they still manage to be behind at half.

Boston College’s last 4 results at half:

• BC 24 – Wake 39. Lost the game
• BC 31 – Virginia Tech 33. Won the game
• BC 28 – Louisville 30. Lost the game
• BC 32 – Clemson 39. Won the game.

Tonight’s first half should be a no brainer blood bath and we’re going to ride it all the way to victory.
