Claude Giroux finishes The Fountain Faceoff Skills Competition in 22.6 seconds

NHL All-Star Weekend is happening in Las Vegas. Honestly, I had no idea but I caught the end of the broadcast on ESPN before the 76ers game last night, so that’s pretty cool.
Apparently they had a skills competition airing last night, that was actually filmed on Thursday? Got it.
Claude Giroux, who was named the captain for the Metropolitan team during All-Star festivities after Alex Ovechkin had to miss the events with COVID, participated in the 2022 NHL All-Star Skills competition “The Fountain Faceoff.”
I definitely didn’t watch it, but as a guy who runs The Liberty Line covering Philly sports, I’m here to give you an update on what happened. Don’t get mad at me Flyers fans, I’m just trying to give you the details. Watch the video, check out the backdrop, and be on your way. No need to get upset.
The NHL Skills Competition took place outside the Bellagio with all the fancy fountains in Vegas. Everything looked great. Definitely much better than the NFL Draft with players taking boats to the stage, that was just silly.

Giroux finished the accuracy competition in 22.6 seconds. No clue if that’s good or not, but much like this season with the Flyers, Giroux’s performance wasn’t enough to to get a win.
Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski won the challenge, beating Predators defenseman Roman Josi in the finals.
