Joel Embiid: We’re not talking about non-shooters, we’re talking about James Harden

Tonight’s 76ers-Timberwolves game might be the most anticipated February basketball game ever in the city of Philadelphia. Sixers fans will finally be able to see James Harden take the court alongside Joel Embiid.
At shoot around today, Embiid spoke with the media and touched on a variety of topics, but a specific quote stood out amongst them all.
Joel Embiid during 76ers shoot around
“We’re not talking about non-shooters or guys that are limited offensively.”
Nailed it. I wouldn’t even call this shade honestly. How many non-shooters do you know in the NBA? We’re talking about guys who literally do not shoot the basketball. There’s only one player that comes to mind, right?
Ben Simmons.
I absolutely love this. All season long, Embiid has been on a mission. There’s no one who can hold a grudge quite like Joel Embiid. It’s all turned into just pure motivation and we have witnessed the results on the basketball court this season.
For anyone that has the slightest bit of nerves about what Ben Simmons in Brooklyn and how that team will look when they finally get everyone on the court together, there’s really no point in worrying. Joel Embiid will erase any doubt you may have. It’s what has driven him to becoming an MVP favorite this season.
Now you mix in a player like James Harden and it’s literally game over.
Trouble Brewing in Brooklyn
On top of that, in Brooklyn, it looks like New Yorkers are finally coming to terms with the fact that maybe Ben Simmons is a fraud after all. It’s going to be so enjoyable to watch their frustration grow.
There is no chance in hell that he is going to play on March 10th in Philadelphia. Everyone in Philly already knows that and has known that, even after Simmons himself said he would “hopefully” be ready to play by then during his introductory press conference.
