Kendrick Perkins compares Embiid and Harden to Magic and Kareem, proves yet again that he knows ball.

Kendrick Perkins continues to grow on me. There’s a good chance it’s because what he’s saying is finally in agreement with how myself and everyone else in the city of Philadelphia feels about the 76ers but whatever. We got here one way or another and I’m extremely happy to be here.
Perkins went on First Take today and said that James Harden and Joel Embiid have the ceiling of Magic and Kareem. Regardless of my 76ers bias, that’s a million times more accurate than whatever that bozo Jason McIntyre on Undisputed this morning.
Here’s the video:
For those at work, here are a few quotes from Perkins’ beautiful rant.
“I’m looking at Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar right now. Just because of James Harden’s facilitating. It’s enough that people have to deal with Joel Embiid… When you put those two together, and it comes to late-game situations… I don’t know who in the hell can stop those two.”
“Now you have a motivated Embiid, you have a motivated James Harden, and you telling me a team in the league can actually stop those two? I don’t see it.”
“I see the 76ers winning it all.”
Big Perk as Joel Embiid’s number one fan is becoming one of the best narratives out there in the national media. Which as we all know, typically jumps at the opportunity to tear down the Philadelphia 76ers and more specifically, Joel Embiid.
The hype is definitely valid. Embiid and Harden have done whatever they have wanted on the court over the last two games. To think that the two were able to adapt so quickly while playing with each other is pretty impressive, so you know what? Fuck it. Maybe they are the next Magic and Kareem. That works for me.
Through two games the 76ers’ new duo have combined for 127 points and have gone to the free throw line a combined 59 times. Vibes are at an all time high so yes, let’s compare them to all the best duos in the history of the NBA. Miss me with the rest of the facts. Do I care that Magic and Kareem won five championships together? Nope. Do I care about the age of each player and what they accomplished at certain points in their career? Absolutely not.
Perkins knows ball. Keep tugging at those Philadelphia heart strings big fella. We absolutely love it. At this rate, we’ll save you a spot on the first float that rolls down Broad Street this summer.
