Chase Utley set to join Rollins/Howard as a “Legend” in MLB The Show 22

Chase Utley is set to return to the beloved MLB The Show 2022, which is set to release a month from tomorrow. The former Phillies’ second baseman will join Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard as part of the “Legend Collection”.
As the years go on, former players return back to MLB The Show once they have a certain amount of years out of the league. Howard’s return was announced back in early February, and the best second baseman in Phillies history will now join the big piece.
MLB The Show releases a new game every year, and with that comes new player cards. In the game, each current player has their own card with their specific stats based on their abilities on the field. Among the current players, hundreds of all-time legends are in the game as well, with cards highlighting their best seasons in the pros as “limited edition”.
Chase Utley’s Phillies Career
The 6x All-Star, 4x Silver Slugger, and World Series Champion had a fascinating career in Philadelphia. Utley and Rollins formed one of the best middle-infield duos I’ve ever seen. The two turned hundreds of double plays over their career, and along with Ryan Howard, completed the “Big 3” of the 2008 championship team.
Utley played 159 games in 2008, slashing .292/.380/.535. He cracked 33 HRs and 104 RBIs throughout the ’08 season, tallying 177 hits, the second most hits of his career in one season. Chase Utley posted a career .282 average in 13 years with the Phillies, cracking over 200 HRs and 900 RBIs.
Chase Utley gave us one of the greatest moments in Philadelphia history, and will now be returning back to MLB The Show 2022 as a legend. Along with Howard and Rollins, Utley will join a number of Phillies legends, including Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, and Richie Ashburn.
MLB The Show is set to release on April 5th, 2022. Shohei Ohtani will be taking the cover this year, after his unanimous MVP 2021 season. Pre-order the game here.
