Spring Training Schedule: Phillies set to play 19 exhibition games starting March 18th
Things are moving quickly now that the MLB lockout is over. The Philadelphia Phillies are heading back to Clearwater and will be playing their first Spring Training game on Friday, March 18th.
All players must report to Clearwater by a mandatory date of tomorrow and will be playing in a revised Spring Training league, which varies based on region.
Clubs on the West Coast of Florida will play at least 17 games across 21 days against each other. For the teams on the East Coast of Florida, they will play a minimum of 15 games against each other.
The Phillies are scheduled to play 19 exhibition games leading up to Opening Day on April 7th. First up will be the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland Florida on March 18th.
Things are now moving fast in the MLB and there are a ton of big name free agents still looking for a club to play for this season. Bryce Harper has already campaigned to bring his buddy Kris Bryant to Philadelphia, and the Phillies still have plenty of work to do in acquiring a few key position players and bullpen arms.
