Report: Eagles interested in star defensive tackle Jordan Davis

Even after signing Haason Reddick and bringing back Fletcher Cox, the Philadelphia Eagles are still looking to make upgrades on the defensive line. There have been numerous top prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft linked to the Eagles, including Devonte Wyatt and David Ojabo.
A new addition to that list is the freak of nature Jordan Davis, a defensive tackle from Georgia. Most people know Davis for his ridiculous stature and impressive combine showing.
At 6’6 and 340 pounds, Davis recorded a 4.78 40-yard dash and recorded amongst the top percentiles for numerous other drills. Most analysts have said he had the most all-around dominant combine showing since Calvin Johnson.

According to Davis himself, the Eagles are planning to bring him to Philadelphia on a top-30 visit ahead of next month’s draft.
“I’ve been in contact with the Philadelphia Eagles, and I plan on having a top-30 visit soon,” Davis said. “There’s not really too much I can say right now other than that, but we have been in contact. For me, it works great (if the Eagles drafted him). I loved watching Fletcher Cox growing up. I try to pattern part of my game after him, and I love how dominant he is.”
During his 2021 season with the Bulldogs, Davis had 32 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss. His stats might not seem like a lot, but Davis was surrounded by two other first-round prospects in Devonte Wyatt and Nakobe Dean.
If the Eagles were able to bring in Davis to pair with Cox and Hargrave in the middle, they would no doubt have the best defensive line in football. But following his combine showing, it’s hard to see Davis falling out of the top ten.
