Phillies Update: Schwarber debut, Castellanos’ presser, and today’s lineup

Kyle Schwarber will make his Phillies debut today against the Toronto Blue Jays, hitting leadoff in the DH spot. Along with Schwarber’s debut, Nick Castellanos will also have his introductory press conference today at noon.Â
Kyle Schwarber’s Phillies Debut
Kyle Schwarber’s introductory press conference took place on Monday, and the newly acquired Phillies left fielder is ready to get to work. Upon his arrival, Schwarber spoke with Realmuto, asking questions about the Phillies roster and where he can provide the most help ahead of Opening Day.
Schwarber asked Realmuto the following:
- Who are the guys we have to work with?
- Who are the guys who are going to grind with you?
Realmuto said he could sense Schwarber’s attitude and love for the game the second he walked into BayCare Ballpark. We have heard a ton about how great Schwarber will be in the Phillies locker room as a veteran and proven winner and it’s great to see that he’s not wasting any time in being vocal about making this ball club better.
Schwarber will get his first action with the Phillies today at 1:05. The team will take on the Toronto Blue Jays at BayCare Ballpark.
Nick Castellanos’ Introductory Press Conference
Nick Castellanos’ introductory press conference will take place today at noon, down in Clearwater. The team inked Castellanos to a 5-year, $100M deal back on March 18th. You can find Castellanos’ press conference on phillies.com.
John Clark, who is known for stalking players at airports, caught up with Castellanos when he arrived in Florida yesterday.
Phillies Spring Training Schedule
The Phillies will take on the Toronto Blue Jays today at 1:05.
Kyle Schwarber will hit in the leadoff spot for his first game with the Phillies. The team will send out their best lineup yet, featuring Segura, Hoskins, Harper, JT, and more. Joe Girardi said this morning that Kyle Schwarber will get just two at-bats, as he’s still easing back into the game after an extended offseason.
