St. Peter’s cements themselves as an honorary Philly school with a single tweet after advancing to the Elite 8 in South Philly

All hail the Peacocks. the St. Peter’s mens basketball team advanced the Elite 8 earlier tonight after beating the Purdue Boilermakers 67-64 at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia.
The Peacocks story to March Madness is pretty wild. They were 12-11 on February 20th after a loss to Siena, 84-71. From there, they literally just stopped losing basketball games and are 10-0 since. Now, they are the first 15 seed to ever make the Elite 8 of the March Madness tournament.
They took down No. 2 Kentucky in the first round of the playoffs. They beat No. 7 Murray State in the second round. Tonight, they took down No. 3 Purdue. There was no better place to get the win tonight than Philadelphia, which is a city that constantly roots for the underdog.
