Report: Phillies outfielder Adam Haseley traded to the Chicago White Sox

Adam Haseley, the eighth overall pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2017 MLB Draft has been traded to the Chicago White Sox, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
The Philadelphia Phillies brought back Odubel Herrera this offseason and up until a few weeks ago, it looked like Herrera and Matt Vierling would be platooning in centerfield for the Phillies this season.
A lot has changed since then, with Herrera dealing with a right oblique injury that will keep him out for the first few weeks of the MLB season. From there, Vierling and Haseley were thought to be the two favorites in center heading into Opening Day.
Adam Haseley was on the Opening Day roster last season but took a step away from baseball on April 14th, 2021. Haseley slashed .266/.324/.396 his rookie year, tallying 5 HRs and 26 RBIs in 67 games.
The Emergence of Mickey Moniak
Moniak caught fire and now finds himself in the running for not only a spot on the roster, but the starting center fielder for the Phillies on Opening Day. He has been working with Phillies hitting coach Kevin Long making slight adjustments on his swing. He’s also noticeably bigger during camp this season, something he focused on during the winter.
Coming off the bench Sunday, Moniak hit a home run in his third straight game for the Phillies. Over his last four appearances heading into yesterday’s game, Moniak went 4-for-10 with three home runs and a double. Yesterday, he added to his impressive Spring going 1-for-2 from the plate with yet another double.
Now, the Phillies are shaping up to have Matt Vierling and Mickey Moniak as their two centerfield options on Opening Day. Wild.
McKinley Moore
The Phillies will be receiving McKinley Moore back in the deal, a right-handed pitching prospect. Moore spent last season in Single and High A, tallying a 4.20 ERA in 37 games. He finished 25 of those games, racking up 9 saves in 40.2 innings pitched.
Up Next for the Phillies
The Phillies take on the New York Yankees today at 1:05 in Tampa. Aaron Nola gets the ball, with Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos both in the lineup once again. Ronald Torreyes will play right field, replacing Haseley.
