NFL Draft: Eagles DB coach attends LSU Pro Day to work out top corner prospect

Following the massive trade with New Orleans earlier this week, the Eagles are now down to two first-round selections in the upcoming NFL Draft.
With Darius Slay entering the tail-end of his career and Steven Nelson still testing free agency, cornerback should be a priority for Philly heading into the draft.
Luckily, this class is loaded with defensive talent and the Eagles appear to be doing their research on the top CB prospects, including LSU standout Derek Stingley Jr.

Stingley was widely considered the top corner in the class before suffering a Lisfranc injury last season.
Availability remains a concern, however, as he’s only played in ten games over the last two years. From strictly a talent perspective, Stingely projects as a lockdown corner who will be able to match up with the NFL’s top receivers.
A fluid athlete with tremendous recovery speed and ball skills, Stingley has the ideal traits teams are looking for at the cornerback position. If he falls out of the top-10, I’d expect the Eagles to strongly consider trading up for their premier corner of the future.
Not to mention the practice matchups between DeVonta Smith and Derek Stingley Jr. would only benefit each other. Iron sharpens iron, as they say.
