Report: Eagles sign former Oregon WR

In their efforts to provide more firepower for Jalen Hurts in 2022, the Eagles have taken an unconventional route to add a receiver.
According to Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro, Philadelphia has signed two-time Olympian and three-time national champion hurdler Devon Allen.
Allen — 6’0″, 191 pounds — last played football at Oregon in 2016 and has never played an NFL snap. The guy can move, however, as Allen recorded a 4.35 40-time at Oregon’s Pro Day last Friday.

The 27-year-old visited the Eagles’ facility on Thursday, stating that he wanted to give the NFL a shot before Father Time caught up to him:
“It’s now or never because I don’t want to get too old,” Allen said, via the team’s website. “I don’t want to turn 30, 31, and then try and get into the NFL. I know the skill gap is still there from college to the NFL, but I think when I did play college and when I did play at a pretty good level, I would consider myself talented enough to play in the NFL.”
As the premier deep threat for Oregon, Allen caught 41 passes for 684 yards and 7 TDs in 2014. He’ll now join the Eagles’ offseason program in an attempt to carve a role on the roster.
