Joel Embiid named final Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Joel Embiid has been named final Eastern Conference Player of the Week of the 2021-22 NBA season.
Over the past week Joel Embiid helped propel the 76ers to a 4-1 record, while averaging 37.8 points, 14.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.6 blocks over the five game stretch.
Embiid’s biggest performance of that week came in his final game of the regular season against the Pacers where he recorded his first career 40 point, 20 rebound performance.
This is Embiid’s second Player of the Week nod this season, and his eighth overall in his career. Interestingly enough, Joel has just as many POTW awards as he does Player of the Month awards.
The Embiid won back-to-back nominations for POTM in January and February as he catapulted the 76ers into the top of the East. He scored over 30 points in all but one game in January, along with one of the most efficient 50-point outings in NBA history.
