Game 4 Preview: 76ers look for their first best-of-seven sweep in 37 years

The 76ers are looking for their first playoff sweep in 37 years as they face Toronto today in Game 4 of the first round.
The Raptors have struggled throughout the postseason and are coming off a deflating overtime loss in Game 3. A win today from the Sixers means an extended break before facing the Miami Heat or Atlanta Hawks, who are still in the midst of their series.

Joel Embiid
During Wednesday’s victory, Joel Embiid was spotted with a brace and often holding his right hand. According to multiple reports, there is concern that Embiid tore a ligament in his right thumb but won’t get an MRI until he returns to Philly.
The good news is everyone is saying he plans to play through it no matter what, and the Sixers haven’t listed him on their injury report for today.
Even with the injury, Embiid still dropped 33 points and 13 rebounds in Game 3 — complete with a game-winning turnaround three in overtime.

It’s a shame that Embiid has to play through an injury every postseason, but luckily it seems he will be able to play through the pain. With the rest of the postseason ahead of them, I wouldn’t be shocked if Embiid relies more on James Harden and Tyrese Maxey this afternoon.
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
Philadelphia 76ers | -155 | -3.5 (-105) | O 212.5 (-115) |
Toronto Raptors | +130 | +3.5 (-115) | U 212.5 (-105) |
Clean up the turnovers
The 76ers’ significant amount of turnovers almost cost them Wednesday’s game, committing 22 turnovers compared to the Raptors’ 10.
Their sloppy play was likely due to it being their first game in an intense playoff atmosphere on the road, having only given up three turnovers in Game 1.
If the 76ers want to sweep Toronto, they’ll need to play clean basketball, and it starts with Maxey and Embiid. The two combined for 11 turnovers last game, and Toronto will surely be attacking Embiid more after his injury.
