Back Home: Raptors-76ers Game 5 preview, odds, and prediction

On Saturday, the Toronto Raptors won 110-102 in Game 4 to keep their season alive, avoiding a 4-0 sweep by the Philadelphia 76ers and forcing a Game 5 tonight at the Wells Fargo Center.
Fred VanVleet OUT Tonight
Last game, Scottie Barnes (ankle) returned to the lineup but was pretty miserable off the bench for the Raptors. Barnes played 26 minutes, shooting 1-for-6 from the floor with 6 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Tonight, the Raptors will be without Fred VanVleet in Game 5. FVV had a rough Game 4 as well, shooting 2-for-6 and only scoring five points in 15 minutes of action.

Embiid Battling Injuries
For 76ers, the main concern is Joel Embiid. Embiid is playing through knee soreness and an injured thumb that will eventually require surgery, whenever the 76ers playoff run comes to an end this season.
Embiid clearly struggled in Game 4, shooting just 43.8% from the floor and finishing the night with 21 points and eight rebounds. The Sixers will get Matisse Thybulle back tonight since they are no longer playing in vaccine-mandated Canada, which should offer a nice boost on the defensive side on the court.
The 76ers need a “Takeover Game” from Harris, Maxey, or Harden tonight
Offensively, the 76ers need Tyrese Maxey to have a bounce-back game tonight. Maxey finished Game 4 with just 11 points on 4-of-12 shooting from the floor. With Embiid battling through injuries, more responsibility falls on the shoulders of Maxey, Harris, and Harden to carry the weight for the Sixers.
In Game 4, Harden scored 22 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the floor but was only 2-for-8 from beyond the arc. Tobias Harris remained the most consistent 76ers player in Game 4, scoring 15 points on 7-for-12 shooting with 11 rebounds, two assists, a steal, and two blocks.
