Kendrick Perkins: Ben Simmons is a pretty girl that remains single because she smokes cigarettes

The Brooklyn Nets were swept in the first round of the NBA Playoffs last night by the Boston Celtics.
Ben Simmons, who was supposed to make his season debut (lol) in Game 4, did not play, citing mental health issues and the fact that because of those mental health issues, his back continues to trigger soreness.
Not the best look for Simmons, who was become the laughing stock of the NBA after not playing basketball all season.
The latest insult thrown towards Ben Simmons comes from Kendrick Perkins, who compared him to an attractive, single girl that remains single because she smokes cigarettes.
Kendrick Perkins gives his thoughts on Ben Simmons
Damn. Carry the hell on Perk. Pretty interesting metaphor here. As an ex-cig smoker, I understand that no one wants to walk around smelling like cigs. The smell is nasty and something that cigarette smokers don’t realize while actively smoking.
Unfortunately, I can’t get behind criticizing a good heater. There are plenty of other worse things to say about a person than just comparing them to a girl smoking cigs. That’s something I can easily look over if the vibes are right and not even think twice about it.
Plus, if Ben Simmons had a cig hanging out of his mouth or tucked behind his ear while dressed like a clown on the bench with the Nets over the last few months of the NBA season, I might have switched sides and actually supported him.
The fact remains, Perkins is essentially saying that Simmons looks like a basketball player every team would want based on his skill set, but once you get to know him, you realize why no one actually wants him on their team.
Who knows what the future holds for Simmons. I still believe he won’t play basketball ever again camp or at the very least, he won’t play basketball until he’s on a team in California.
As for the 76ers, we’re heading back to Toronto on Thursday night for Game 6 against the Raptors in a series that should have been over two games ago.
Carry the hell on.
