Rangers Outlast Phillies 2-1 in 10 innings

The Phillies could only muster 6 hits on Wednesday night, as they were outlasted by the Rangers 2-1 in 10 innings.
The Phillies and the Rangers were locked in a classic duel tonight as both starting pitchers were fantastic. It was double play after double play and the Phillies hit approximately 5 balls to the warning track without capitalizing.
Zack Wheeler 7 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K and Martin Perez 7 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 4 K
For just the third time this season, a game was knotted 0-0 after 9 innings. Former Philly, Bamboo Brad Miller won the game for Texas with a 2 RBI single in the top of the 10th inning. Both teams were ultimately able to tack on runs in extras, benefiting from the new rule this season that places a runner on second to begin the inning.
It wasn’t just Brad Miller making his former team pay tonight, Matt Moore provided a clutch 1.2 scoreless innings of work. Nothing has changed with his punchable face, yet this season he has allowed one earned run over 12 innings for the Rangers. Pain..
The only notable offensive performance of the night came from Nick Castellanos who had three hits including a home run that was overturned when a fan in the front row reach over the fence interfering with the baseball.
Hey guy…don’t do that. You’re a full grown adult man, do better.
The Phillies and Rangers combined to go 1-15 with runners in scoring position. Philadelphia, who despite having a top ten offense, cant seem to knock in runners are on a putrid 6-49 stretch with in that category.
That’s the third straight loss for the Phils who have now lost four of the last five after sweeping the Rockies last week.
They will be in big trouble if they play with this energy during the upcoming four game series against the Mets at CBP. I personally believe that the Phils are going to take 3 of 4 this weekend. Why? Because the Phillies are streaky and scores runs in bunches.
It’s also their destiny to go .500.
Maybe AJ Brown can play centerfield?
Tonight was a tough one for the Philadelphia sports fan. Sixers lose without MVP Joel Embiid and the Phillies cant score a run.
Fuck.

There’s no offense so we will show you Rhys Hoskins robbing Brad Miller of a hit in the third inning.
Nick Castellanos hit a home run that wasn’t. Yes, the ball was never leaving the park, but this stupid fan should have still kept himself from reaching for the ball.
Scary play here as Didi Gregorius fails to make the catch and collides with Kyle Schwarber in shallow left field. Both players were fine and stayed in the game.
Alec Bohm makes a nice throw to get Garcia at home after catching a lazy fly ball along the left field line. Were still knotted up 0-0!
Joe Girardi removes Zack Wheeler from the game in the 8th inning much to the displeasure of the fans at Citizens Bank Park.
JT Realmuto guns down Marcus Semien to end the 9th inning.
Bamboo Brad knocks in two runs with a single in the top of the 10th inning because of course he does!
