For the love of God, please keep LeBron James away from Tyrese Maxey

The 76ers fell behind 2-0 to the Miami Heat tonight, looking completely out of sorts while putting up another miserable shooting performance from three point range. They allowed Tyler Herro get off more free shots than a bartender desperate for tips. It was absolutely miserable. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, LeBron James decided to chime in on Twitter, talking about Tyrese Maxey.
Even with the 76ers loss, Tyrese Maxey had a stellar performance tonight, scoring 34 points on 12-of-22 shooting. In the second half, Maxey and Tobias Harris combined to shoot 13-of-18 from the floor for 38 points. The rest of the 76ers team shot 4-of-21 from the floor for a total of 13 points.
LeBron James was watching the game and couldn’t help but commenting on Tyrese Maxey’s performance. If you know King James, there’s nothing he loves more than tampering and getting players in trouble, while ultimately getting them to come play with him. He did it with the New Orleans Pelicans and Anthony Davis, and now it seems like he’s poised to do the same with our 21-year old franchise guard in Tyrese Maxey.
You might think I’m being paranoid or this article is just satire and honestly, you might be correct in your assumptions, but after everything that Ben Simmons put this city through, any 76ers fan that isn’t a little paranoid hasn’t been paying attention.
The Rocky History Between Tyrese Maxey and the 76ers
You may recall that Klutch Sports represents Ben Simmons. They also represent Tyrese Maxey. Early on in the Ben Simmons saga, Rich Paul strategically leaked that he was trying to ensure Tyrese Maxey would be included in any trade. The backlash was swift and the threat never materialized.
Now we have new reasons to worry. LeBron quit on the Lakers this year after he realized he’d made a huge mistake trading for Russell Westbrook. This led to them missing the playoffs and leaving King James with a ton of free time to watch the playoffs from his couch.
So now on top of having to deal with the sudden erosion of James Harden’s ability to play basketball, and Doc Rivers’ nightly villainy, we have to worry about LeBron trying to steal away Maxey.
Shame on Adam Silver for allowing his league to be held under the sway of the petty tyrant LeBron. Why should 76ers fans have to live in fear that he’s going to spot their rising star point guard and declare prima nocta?
This could be bad news for the 76ers. Unless LeBron really wants to come to Philly and play? I’ll be waiting at Philadelphia International Airport prepared to roll out a red carpet. We all know how much he loves the color red (China).
In all seriousness, credit to Maxey who continues to impress night in and night out. I’m happy he’s getting noticed on the national stage, even if that person is LeBron James.
Remember folks, playoff series aren’t won until a team wins a game on the road. Joel Embiid will hopefully be back on the court Friday in South Philadelphia for Game 3 and just like that, we’ll have ourselves a series.
Stay positive. Don’t let LeBron get you down.
