According to the 76ers, DeVonta Smith was fired by the Philadelphia Eagles on his day off

During tonight’s Game 4 matchup against the Miami Heat, the 76ers’ JumboTron spotted DeVonta Smith in attendance. When showing Smith on the screen, the Sixers somehow managed to mess up his title, calling him a former Philadelphia Eagle.

How on Earth can you screw that up? From there, we speculated that Howie Roseman traded Smitty without notifying his star wide receiver. Turns out, we weren’t far off with our assumption. DeVonta Smith thinks he got fired on his day off.

This isn’t the first time the 76ers fucked up on the big screen. During the regular season, they somehow managed to misspell Julius Erving’s name when he was in attendance during their game against the Los Angeles Lakers a few months ago.

How the hell do you manage to improperly identify two of the biggest faces in Philadelphia sports, one of which is considered to be the best player in your franchise’s history?
Honestly it doesn’t make sense. I would never call for someone to be fired but maybe just reassigned to a different role? We can’t keep making these types of mistakes, especially in a pivotal Game 4 against the Miami Heat.
76ers are up eight points, 64-56 at halftime looking to even the series before heading back to Miami on Tuesday. We ride.
