To Live and Die In LA; Phillies Rally Past Dodgers 12-10 in 10 Innings

The Phillies blew the save in the 9th, but rallied back past the Dodgers in the 10th inning to win 12-10.
This Phillies team seems to really enjoy hitting at Dodgers Stadium.
The Phillies entered the 9th inning with a two run lead but Jeurys Familia allowed a 2 run HR to Justin Turner blowing his second game of the season. Just one night after giving up a late lead and finding a way to score in the 9th inning, the Fightins did it again!
Tonight’s heroics came in the top of the 10th inning courtesy of Nick Castellanos, who doubled off Brusdar Graterol, scoring Roman Quinn and Bryce Harper. Castellanos would later score on an Austin Barnes throwing error giving the Phillies a 12-9 lead.
Francisco Morales allowed a run in the bottom of the 10th, but forced Mookie Betts to ground into a huge double play with the bases loaded and earned the save by retiring Trea Turner.
Ballplayers from the Silver State of Nevada had an excellent night as Bryce Harper and Bryson Stott went a combined 5-7, 3 R, 5 RBI
Kyle Gibson had his worst start of the season allowing 8 hits and 6 ER in just 3.2 innings. That would normally be a poor recipe for beating the Dodgers and Walker Buehler, who entered the day with an outstanding 1.96 ERA. But Buehler lacked his usual command allowing 5 ER on 9 hits in just 5 innings of work.
The Phillies bullpen was solid before Familia blew the save against the best lineup in the National League. Five different Phillies relievers combined to toss 5.1 innings allowing just one earned run and 3 hits.
The Phillies, now have 27 hits and 21 runs in their first two games against the NL’s best pitching staff in Los Angeles.
The Phillies have now reached double digit hits in five of their last eight games.
