Rumor: 76ers will be star hunting this offseason looking to add talent for a legit Big 3

Brian Windhorst made some big claims this morning on ESPN when asked about the future of the 76ers.
The first of which is the least surprising is that James Harden will be back next season. Harden said he would be back himself, but it’s unclear if he will opt into his player option or sign a long-term deal.
Windhorst then revealed that the 76ers wouldn’t be done with big moves this off-season after bringing back Harden.
“I promise you Daryl Morey has big giant plans to acquire another star.”
As expected, we’re back to the “star-hunting” Brett Brown days. I don’t really mean that in a negative way. The 76ers desperately need to fix this lineup and provide more help for Joel Embiid. James Harden isn’t the player that can carry this team and that was on full display during the playoffs with Embiid battling injuries.
I hate the fact that we have to blow this team up, but major changes need to be made again. Another star player would be ideal, but that means a brand new roster. We can’t forget about the bench unit either. Green, Millsap, Jordan, Niang, Korkmaz can’t possibly come back next year.
It’ll be interesting to see who Morey will try to chase, with the only big star that could be available being Zach LaVine. Tobias Harris was rumored to be shopped, and there’s always a chance that Bradley Beal will finally leave Washington.
Stepping away from the actual roster construction, we still have Doc Rivers as our head coach so none of that might even matter anyways. During their end-of-season pressers, Morey confirmed that the 76ers were committed to Doc Rivers 100%, but that might not be the case.
“I think the Sixers would be comfortable with Doc returning, but I don’t think it’s as open and shut as Daryl wanted to present it.”
There have been rumors that the Los Angeles Lakers could be interested in hiring Doc, and there have been conflicting reports that Rivers would be back next season. Windy was right all along with the Harden rumors last season, so hopefully, this is the case once again this summer.
