Eagles and Wawa announce exciting return of SWOOP Shake for 2022

If you like melted ice cream and supporting a good cause, today is your lucky day. Wawa has announced they are bringing back their Eagles themed “SWOOP Shake” in support of the Eagles Autism Foundation. That’s right, in all of the excitement of the Eagles being declared a dynasty by Michael Irvin, you may have missed the big news. The SWOOP Shake is BACK at Wawa.
From the Philadelphia Eagles Press Release
“Back by popular demand, Wawa’s “SWOOP Shake” is returning to Philadelphia stores today, with Wawa making a $5,000 contribution to the Eagles Autism Foundation in honor of the specialty beverage. Made with vanilla soft serve, mint flavor, whipped cream, and Eagles green jimmies, the SWOOP Shake will be available for a limited time through Sunday, May 22, 2022.”
Reading this Eagles press release, I am struck by three questions.
1. Why are they only selling these SWOOP Shakes in Philadelphia Wawa stores?
Shouldn’t the entire Wawa sphere of influence be subject to the power of Swoop’s delicious milkshake? Wawa has expanded far beyond Philly. Are they feeling self conscious about their roots? They probably force their employees to pronounce the word “water” with an extra hard “t” in some far flung locations.
2: Why are they only donating $5,000?
Do they really think they can’t afford more than that? I’m pretty sure it costs a minimum $90 to fuel up a decent sized SUV at any of their gas stations. They have to be doing five grand in sales within the first hour of any of their locations. I won’t do the research to back this up, but I will confidently assert that Wawa is being cheap here.
3: Why would they make this the color of bird poop?
I truly cannot stress how bizarre it is to make a bird themed beverage white with flecks of green color. It conjures up the mental image of a large humanoid bird squatting over each cup to fulfill the orders. My god what depraved sickos thought this up?

As I mentioned at the top, this is in support of the Eagles Autism Foundation.
It will be available until May 22. Its availability coincides with the Eagles Autism Challenge. You can find out more about that on their site.
Hit the road with Phans of Philly.
The Liberty Line will be travelling to Arizona with Phans of Philly on October 9 to see the Eagles and the Cardinals in a battle of the birds. I don’t know whether or not there will be any bird poop themed shakes served, but I imagine you can find a bar in Arizona that will make you a white russian with green sprinkles. That’s assuming you ask nicely.
Make sure you head to Phans of Philly’s website to book your trip now. They’re the best when it comes to Eagles fan trips. They provide completely stress-free travel planning and flexible payment plans with the best reputation in the city.
