The Philadelphia Phillies have a new outfield design at Citizens Bank Park

Last week, the Philadelphia Phillies ran a Twitter Poll encouraging fans to select a new outfield design at Citizens Bank Park.
The options were pretty cut and dry. You could either vote for the Phillies “P” logo or the signature Liberty Bell logo. Fans overwhelmingly went with the Liberty Bell.
I’m not against the Liberty Bell by any means, however we do have a huge, lit up one hanging over the centerfield wall already, so I would have liked to seen something new on the field. However, your only other option is just a P, I guess it makes sense that the bell was the clear winner.
Compared to the image from the poll and the video that was released today on Twitter showing the new design, it actually turned out a lot better that initially shown.

Still, I would have liked the Phillies to branch out a little bit and try something new. I would have thrown it the whole way back to the Phil and Phillis days or even William Penn throwing a baseball like they used back in the 1930’s.

The Phillies offense is scorching hot, and tonight, they will open up a three game series against the San Diego Padres.
They will face Mike Clevinger, Blake Snell, and Yu Darvish this series. Clevinger is back after undergoing Tommy John Surgery last season and hasn’t made it past the fifth inning in either of his two starts this season. Blake Snell is making his season debut this series and Yu Darvish has been anything but consistent boasting a 4.62 ERA this season.
