Disgusting Behavior: The Shoe Beer at Citizens Bank Park

Over the weekend, the Delaware Valley was pummeled with temperatures in the high 90’s on Saturday and Sunday. The Phillies got their asses kicked by the Los Angeles Dodgers and got super lucky yesterday with an extra innings win thanks to a botched routine ground ball to second base.
It was an all around miserable weekend at the ball park and the sun didn’t make it any easier. Of course Phillies fans couldn’t handle themselves in the heat and started doing disgusting things at Citizens Bank Park. You would think that I’m going to talk about the bathroom stall scenario where people think it’s a good idea to get “busy” in a CBP bathroom but this is arguably worse.
A bunch of idiots that think they are “dawgs” were drinking beer out of their shoes in the outfield of Citizens Bank Park over the weekend.
The Shoe Beer at Citizens Bank Park
The weather was brutal all weekend and you have a bunch of kids in their young 20’s taking off their shoes and drinking beer out of them?
Could you imagine the smell? And then, you have to put your shoe back on, soaked in beer, and walk around the rest of the night. After drinking all weekend myself (not out of my shoe), just writing this on a Monday morning is a tough task in itself.
Side Note: The guy in the powder blue jersey should have sat this one out to begin with. What a pathetic attempt at chugging a shoe beer, bro. Grow up.
At the end of the day, the shoe beer is the most overrated thing on the internet. It’s honestly disgusting and I don’t know what’s wrong with Gen Z that they think this is cool. I guess these kids are just a bunch of Stoolies hoping to get featured on the always reliable (sarcasm) Barstool Philly account.
No surprise here, they immediately posted while also pushing the Pardon My Cheesesteak, literally leaving a bad taste in the mouths of actual Philadelphians.
Anyways, let this be a message to the fellas. No one thinks the shoe beer is cool. If you are set on not getting laid and just drinking with the boys and getting featured on Barstool sports, then go for it, but I would question your priorities.
