T.J. Edwards speaks on Eagles’ offseason additions at linebacker

For the first time in quite a while, Howie Roseman put an emphasis on linebacker this offseason, signing Haason Reddick and Kyzir White while drafting Nakobe Dean in the third round.
Even with these additions, some of the starters for last season should still have a considerable role on the defense, most notably T.J. Edwards.
Edwards was asked about his new teammates and had nothing but praise for them.
“It’s awesome, really what it is. The more depth you have, the more pieces you have, the more you can do. We’ve brought in some really good additions, guys that have really played football at a high level, so I think it just adds more to what we can do. So you look at that, and you look at it as competition, and everybody’s going to get better from that, really.”
This is the mindset you want from your guys. Iron sharpens Iron. Even with how Jonathan Gannon’s defense is set up, Edward’s depth is unchanged outside the addition of White.
Both Reddick and Dean are primarily off-ball linebackers, while Edwards plays over the middle. It’ll be exciting to see how Edwards and Davion Taylor improve in 2022 with an improved defense surrounding them across the board.
Look at where Nakobe Dean starts and look at where he ends up. Show me the last Eagles LB that covered ground like this. pic.twitter.com/KMLdTGHSHG
