Nick Castellanos Interrupts Yet Another Serious Moment with A Home Run on Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, Nick Castellanos continued his strange habit of interrupting serious discussions, when he hit a solo home run while Tom McCarthy and Ben Davis were busy detailing the American Gold Star Mothers and their attempt to place an empty seat to honor fallen troops in every major league stadium.
The trend has become the talk of the internet, after Casatellnos started it as a member of the Cincinnati Reds when he hit a home run in the middle of Thom Brennaman’s on-air apology for uttering an anti-LGBTQ slur during an earlier broadcast.
Blogs and commentators from different corners of the web are starting to pick up on the strange occurrence, as the ‘And a drive into deep left by Catellanos’ has become a meme that has transcended the sporting world. Suddenly people that never watch baseball and have no idea who Nick Castellanos is are uttering that phrase to acknowledge the strange timing of the universe that we merely reside in.
Earlier this season during Spring Training, Nick Castellanos notched his first hit as a member of the Phillies in Dunedin, FL while Blue Jays broadcaster Buck Martinez discussed a situation involving manager Pete Walker’s recent DUI arrest.
This is actually the fourth time that Nick Castellanos has pulled off this amazing feat. In July 2021, Casty knocked another homer while Royals announcer Ryan Lefebvre took a minute to pay tribute to George Gorman, the father of Royals equipment manager Patrick Gorman, who had died earlier in the week.
Following the home run, Lefenbvre acknowledged the awkwardness of the moment stating “There’s never a great time to eulogize someone during the broadcast,” Lefebvre said. “So we apologize for the timing.”
You can’t make this stuff up and honestly, I think this is further evidence that we are living in a simulation, or at least a personal hell created by an accident within the Large Hadron Collider in 2016. Obviously that day we were sucked into a black hole created by scientists trying to recreate the ‘big bang’ and since then have been floating in an out of alternate universes like Matthew McConaughey in Interstellar.
Or it’s just a strange coincidence that one man could interject himself into so many serious conversations and topics with a bat and a baseball.
When the Phillies are a season-high 7 games below .500 this is really all the excitement we can muster up.
You have the facts. Now make your own decision.
