2022 U.S. Open Championship: Claim a FREE $400, plus Odds, Picks, Predictions

We have finally arrived at the third golf major of 2022. The U.S. Open returns to The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts for the first time since 1988. The last time the U.S. Open was at The Country Club, Curtis Strange beat Nick Faldo in a playoff to win the tournament.
The Country Club did host the 1999 Ryder Cup, which Justin Leonard famously won for the United States and in 2013, it held the U.S. Amateur, which was won by Matt Fitzpatrick. The Country Club is a Par 70 measuring 7,264 yards, which is just 254 yards longer than it was in 1988.

Quick Overview on the Favorites
After holding off Justin Thomas last weekend at the RBC Canadian Open, Rory McIlroy enters this week as the betting favorite to win the U.S. Open, followed by Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, and Jon Rahm.
Rory finished in the top 10 at both the Masters and PGA Championship. He has three top-10 finishes in his last four stops and capped it off by defending his title in Ontario.
Thomas has been scorching hot this year with eight out of 13 starts finishing in the top 10. The two-time PGA Championship winner has gone T8 and T19 in his last two U.S. Open starts.

Back to the Favorites…
Scheffler has been impressive all season long but missed the cut at the PGA Championship. Even with a missed cut, Scottie still has top 20 finishes in seven of eight major championships as a professional on tour, including a seventh place finish last season at Torrey Pines while Jon Rahm won his first major.
Rahm enters the week with three top-10 finishes in his last five starts, including a win at last month’s Mexico Open. He failed to impress at the PGA Championship, finishing tied for 48th place. Oh, and in case you missed this from Rahm, check out what he had to say about preferring the PGA Tour over the LIV Golf Series.

2022 U.S. Open Championship Best Bets
Jon Rahm +1600
Despite struggling for most of the season, Jon Rahm is still one of the best golfers in the world off the tee. The Country Club is extremely long and challenging off the tee and demands accuracy. Jon Rahm has and continues to be the most reliable player in that category.
Jordan Spieth +2200
It’s been almost five years since Jordan Spieth has won a major championship, but his game should work nicely at The Country Club. Spieth has been extremely reliable off the tee this season and his short game remains elite, setting him up perfectly to claim another U.S. Open trophy.

Cameron Smith +2200
I love Cam Smith’s ability to control his game around the greens. Any player in the field that has an elite short game is worth a look this week at The Country Club.
Matthew Fitzpatrick +2500
Fitzpatrick took hope the 2013 U.S. Amateur at The Country Club and is one of a few players that have actually played the course in competition. Fitzpatrick is very consistent and if the Open turns out to be a low scoring affair, which it should, Fitzpatrick should find himself in contention on Sunday.
Dustin Johnson +4000
It would be WILD to have any player on the LIV Golf Tour win the U.S. Open Championship which is why I’m throwing money on the only player that really has a chance in creating such chaos in the golf world.
