Melton, 24, is a former second-round selection who was originally drafted by Sixers president Daryl Morey in Houston. Four years later, Morey gets his guy back.
In 2022, Melton posted career-highs in points per game (10.8) and rebounds per game (4.5). He’s a strong, versatile player who can play both guard positions and defend. Serving as a key reserve for Memphis last season, Melton will bolster a Sixers’ bench unit that has struggled in recent years.
Melton has shot 39% from three on just under five attempts/game over the last two seasons.
This is expected to be the first of many moves this offseason for Philadelphia, who have been rumored to be pursuing PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon amongst others.
