Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney will be happy when he can enjoy things, can’t wait to leave office

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney spoke with the media after shots were fired during the city’s July 4th celebrations last night. Two police officers were shot just after 9:45pm on the 2500 block of Spring Garden as the fireworks display was still underway.
The incident sent crowds of people on the parkway running in every direction, ultimately ending the city’s 4th of July celebrations early. The two police officers injured in the event were taken to the hospital and released later with minor injuries.
After such a horrible incident, it was great to see the mayor confront the city’s problem with gun violence and speak to the citizens of Philadelphia, providing leadership, optimism, and a promise to fight to fix the ongoing issues with gun violence that have plagued the streets of Philadelphia.
Mayor Jim Kenney on 4th of July Gunshots:
“So everything we have in the city over the last seven years I worry about … I’m waiting for something bad to happen all the time so I’ll be happy when I’m not here, when I’m not mayor, and I can enjoy some stuff,”
Okay well never mind. What in the actual fuck is that about?
Look, I understand this is a clip and that Kenney is upset with state legislature with the gun laws in the state of Pennsylvania. However, at no point ever, should he be telling anyone that he can’t wait to not be mayor anymore. That’s just Leadership 101, Jim.
Jim Kenney needs to resign today. There’s no other way around it. You can’t just go on national television and tell everyone across the Delaware Valley that you can’t wait to not do your job anymore. I would question if you ever really did do your job in the first place but the point remains. You can’t stay in office after that type of statement.
If you hate your job, just quit.
Also, wearing a Real Madrid jersey on 4th of July? Going to have to strike that one down as well. It’s America. You’re literally the mayor of the city in which the Declaration of Independence was signed.
Get it together Jim, you’re embarrassing all of us. Time to step down bud.
