Donovan Mitchell throws shade at former Sixers player

The beauty of the NBA summer league is that there’s always something to talk about, whether it’s the young players fighting for an NBA spot or a rising young star. Even if the G League scene isn’t really for you, there are almost always star players showing up and making it entertaining.
In this case, former Sixers guard Ben Simmons has made several appearances and has done what he does best, sit court side and watch. Although, I have to admit he has a lot of nerve doing so, considering he’s public enemy #1 and a part of the circus act that the Brooklyn Nets have become.
This is where Donovan Mitchell comes into play. I had to do some serious and timely investigative journalism to make this story a reality. Long story short, Ben Simmons was sitting next to his new teammate in Brooklyn and former Jazz player Royce O’Neale during the Sixers vs Nets summer league matchup over the weekend. Mitchell didn’t take too kindly to this and posted the following on his Instagram story, which he later deleted.

Even though Mitchell deleted this IG post, it’s still notable how down he looks on Ben Simmons. He’s always had an issue with Simmons dating back to his rookie season with the Sixers, where he won the rookie of the year award over Mitchell. But, of course, a lot has changed and happened since that point.
Ben Simmons has become the laughing stock of the NBA and I absolutely love it.
