JT Realmuto: I’m not going to let Canada tell me what I do or don’t put in my body

The Philadelphia Phillies announced that four players would not be making the trip to Toronto to face the Blue Jays in a two-game series on Tuesday and Wednesday.
JT Realmuto, Alec Bohm, Aaron Nola, and Kyle Gibson have all been sent to the restricted list due to their vaccination status and Canada’s ridiculous rules that anyone entering their country needs to be vaccinated.
After the Phillies loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, JT Realmuto spoke to the media and addressed his vaccination status to Phillies beat reporters.
JT Realmuto on Vaccine Status
To be clear, I do not give a shit if someone is vaccinated or unvaccinated. It’s really that easy. That’s just what I think and if you think otherwise, I respect your opinion. Personally, I don’t make judgements about people based on what type of medical attention they receive and I definitely don’t make judgements about peoples presumed political affiliation.
However, as predicted, the internet simply can’t handle the fact that some people choose to not get vaccinated. They immediately assign labels like “anti-vaxxers” and turn into social media doctors, demanding that people agree with them and do things that they do, leaving no room for individual thought and freedom.
It’s nauseating and honestly, embarrassing.
In the video above, Realmuto states that he is a healthy, 31 year old that had COVID a few times and the symptoms were minimal, so he consulted doctors and made the decision that he did not need to get the COVID vaccine.
You would think that would be a somewhat reasonable response while answering questions about your medical history to a bunch of Phillies beat reporters, but of course it wasn’t enough and the internet didn’t accept Realmuto’s answer.
When I tweeted out that I respected the fact that Realmuto stood up for himself and explained why he didn’t want to get the vaccine, people wanted to kill me.
Seriously, check out this mentally broken, unhinged child:

I sympathize with the child above. Could you imagine being that big of a loser? This kid probably got stuffed in lockers his entire life and now sits at home at his parents house thinking that he is some kind of hero in the fight against COVID-19 by criticizing and wishing death upon anyone who thinks differently than whatever pops in his mentally-broken, unhinged peanut-sized brain.
Sadly, he’s not the only one. You can see a laundry list of complaints about Realmuto, but here’s the general consensus on Twitter.
- JT Realmuto doesn’t care about the team
- JT Realmuto is a loser for not getting vaccinated
- JT Realmuto is not serious about winning
- JT Realmuto is hurting the Phillies
- JT Realmuto is an asshole for saying $260K is not a lot of money
From a baseball perspective, I highly doubt that Realmuto and company missing two games before the All-Star break will be the reason as to why the Phillies either make the playoffs or extend their playoff drought to 11 years.
Again, we are talking about two games and no, the Phillies will not be playing Toronto in the World Series so let’s just stop with that horrible take as well.
As for the $260K not being a lot of money, Realmuto is an idiot for even mentioning that. You have to know that fans wouldn’t take kindly to a millionaire saying $260K isn’t a lot of money, even if Realmuto is the highest paid catcher in MLB history making $115.5 million over the next five years. Just a stupid statement that came off smug and made you look like a total asshole, JT. Be better.
I honestly don’t know when we as a society will be able to collectively move past COVID. I’m not downplaying the severity of the virus. Over 1 million people died. We spent nearly two years in quarantine, got vaccinated, and wore masks. The world has changed after COVID-19 and we are still dealing with the virus every single day.
However, that doesn’t change the fact that people have the right to choose what type of medical treatment they receive. You do not want any government body telling you that you need to take vaccines and medication. That would be really, really, bad.
I hate all politicians and any type of government oversight. Unless someone is dropping a nuke on New York City, I don’t want to hear from the government.
Hey, Nola, Realmuto, Gibson, and Bohm: It’s a team! Utter selfishness not to get vaccinated. Why? THEIR science is smarter? Right.
JT has nothing to be sorry about…and this is coming from a Canadian..he made the right decision by staying vaccination free..Canada is archaic in it’s policy’s..Trudeau is a puppet to Klaus Schwab and his croonies in the WEF and 1,2,3,4 etc etc vaccinations are a farce that unfortunately so many have bought into..stay healthy stay informed..The Jays should play their home games in Buffalo (as before) to avoid all this nonsense the Canadian Gov’t idiotically still has in place..
