JJ Redick says that Philadelphia is the best sports town in America despite Philly sports talk radio being delusional

JJ Redick continues to show his appreciation for the city of Brotherly Love.
During the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors Summer League game, a clip of JJ Redick talking about the city of Philadelphia started circulating around the internet. Typically, whenever the national media chimes in on Philadelphia, it’s never good. However with JJ Redick now in the broadcast booth on ESPN, we finally have someone in the national media who is on our side and understands this city.
JJ Redick on Philadelphia
“They boo you, the sports radio talk shows are delusional, but despite all that Philly is the greatest sports town in America”
Redick also mentioned how loved he felt every time he was in Philadelphia and that if he, Embiid, Harris, Jimmy Butler, and yes, Ben Simmons were able to win a championship here, that he would never have to pay for another meal in the city ever again. Probably true.
Obviously, anytime someone wants to call Philadelphia the greatest sports town/city in America, I’m going to eat that shit up, even more so while it’s on ESPN, who constantly trashes Philadelphia any time they can. I bet the production team was so mad that Redick said something nice about Philly.
The best part was the shade Redick through at sports talk radio shows here in Philadelphia. Outside of Fox Sports The Gambler with Sean Brace, we are really in a crisis for solid Philly sports talk radio shows.
97.5 The Fanatic had a golden opportunity to change that trend by giving the keys to Andrew Salciunas, Devon Givens, and Jamie Lynch after Mikey Miss was booted off the airwaves but instead are sticking with that dork Tyrone Johnson and whoever else during middays and WIP is the worst thing that’s ever happened to this city with the Eskins, that old bag Angelo Cataldi, and whatever the hell they have ESP and Joe Giglio doing on a daily basis.
Want Proof? These idiots at WIP literally retweeted the video and left of the “delusional sports talk radio” part of the quote. LOL.
God they stink.
Anyways, Redick nailed it as usual. I hope Boston and San Francisco enjoyed the Philly love in the middle of their meaningless Summer League game too.
Cheers JJ Redick. Philly vs Everybody.
