Report: Eagles release cornerback ahead of training camp

With training camp set to get underway next week, the Eagles have begun to trim their roster.
According to multiple reports, the team is parting ways with CB Craig James.
The #Eagles are releasing CB Craig James, who has been with the team the last three years, per source. Team believes the DBs room is deep and they'll give him a chance to catch on elsewhere before camp.

James, 26, has spent the last three years in Philadelphia, appearing in 21 games for the club. He played the majority of his snaps on special teams and spent all of last season on the practice squad. The move leaves the following cornerbacks on the roster:
- Darius Slay
- James Bradberry
- Avonte Maddox
- Zech McPhearson
- Kary Vincent Jr.
- Tay Gowan
- Mac McCain III
- Josh Jobe
- Mario Goodrich
- Josiah Scott
- Jimmy Moreland
- Josh Blackwell
The Eagles now have one roster spot available, perhaps for a certain disgruntled safety.
