Phillies pitching prospect named South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week after dominant start last Sunday

Ben Brown of the South Jersey BlueClaws was named Pitcher of the Week in the South Atlantic League after his excellent start on Sunday.
Brown pitched seven strong innings, striking out 13 batters, allowing zero runs and just two hits.Â
The Phillies 22-year old prospect is putting together a solid season in Jersey Shore, posting a 3.26 ERA while striking out 101 batters over 69 innings (15 games). Brown has been in the Phillies farm system since 2017 and was named the organization’s Pitcher of the Month earlier this year in May.
Phillies Pitching Prospects
Phillies top prospects Mick Abel and Andrew Painter are still with Brown in Jersey Shore. Another Phillies pitching prospect, Griff McGarry, was promoted to Double A Reading earlier this month, and recently cracked Baseball America’s Top 100 Prospects list.Â
There are a lot of young arms in the farm system are making some noise for the Phillies lately, which is definitely something to keep an eye on as we approach the MLB Trade Deadline.
