More Bad News: Flyers announce Bobby Brink out 5 months with a torn labrum

The Flyers announced on Tuesday that Bobby Brink underwent hip surgery after suffering a torn labrum during offseason workouts.

Brink was the 34th overall pick in the 2019 NHL draft and was a Hobey Baker finalist last season. After winning the NCAA Championship with Denver, Brink played 10 games with the Flyers late during the season.

Bobby Brink finished with 4 points, all being assists. All in all, it’s tough to judge a player on 10 games on one of the worst teams I’ve ever watched. He did show off his ability to read the ice (especially on the PP) and show off his soft hands around the net.

This news is a tough pill to swallow. Hopefully, Brink can return healthy soon and have a good month or two with the Phantoms before coming up with the Flyers.

The timeline for Brink to return is 5 months. This is now the 2nd young Flyers player (Farabee) that has had surgery for an injury suffered during the offseason.
