Pet boa constrictor strangles owner in Allentown, PA

Tragic news coming out of Allentown PA over the weekend. A man’s 18-foot pet boa constrictor wrapped itself around their owners neck, sending him to the hospital where he died days later.
Pretty fucked up right? I bet you regret clicking this article but let’s continue. Elliot Senseman, 27, died on Sunday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest due to an anoxic brain injury which occurred because of asphyxiation by constriction.
In non-medical terms, that basically means the boa constrictor wrapped around the neck of Senseman causing a complete lack of oxygen to the brain, ultimately ending his life.
Senseman was the owner of an 18-foot boa constrictor in Fogelsville, located in eastern Pennsylvania. Around 2PM last Wednesday, authorities were called to his residence only to find Senseman with his 18-foot boa wrapped around his neck. The police had to shoot the snake in the head to get it to loosen its grasp, but sadly, the damage was already done.
What a fucking brutal way to die. Apparently Senseman had all types of snakes and cages throughout his house and one of his beloved pets ended up killing him. This is a horrible story and obviously tragic that Senseman lost his life because of it. My condolences go out to his family.
A Pet Boa Constrictor is always a bad idea
I’m not really a snake guy because of this exact reason. I also really don’t understand how you’re allowed to own an 18-foot boa constrictor in Pennsylvania. That obviously, seems pretty fucking dangerous.
I get people are into reptiles but let’s keep it within reason please. How about a nice little garden snake or maybe a frog or small lizard? Who needs an 18-foot boa constrictor? It makes no sense to me.
For anyone even thinking about getting a snake that is bigger than you, please don’t. I will even go out of my way to head to Ridley Creek State Park and I’ll find you a nice frog and a salamander to bring home as pets.
