Even with the new guardian caps, Dillard and Mailata sat out of practice with concussions. DeVonta Smith was briefly looked at by trainers during Tuesday’s session but returned to finish practice. He participated in some stretching on Thursday, so the groin injury doesn’t appear to be serious. The Eagles have listed Smith as day-to-day.
Greg Ward missed his second consecutive practice with a toe injury as he battles for a roster spot. TE Grant Calcaterra, who’s having a solid camp, came up limping after a team drill in Saturday’s practice and continues to nurse his hamstring. CB Mac McCain was also added to the injury report with a knee injury.
WRs Zach Pascal and Quez Watkins returned to practice after dealing with illnesses.
Nick Sirianni has taken a more conservative approach to training camp to prevent injuries, but it is football at the end of the day.
More to come.
