Eagles Training Camp: Zach Pascal threw up HOW MANY TIMES?!

Zach Pascal signed a one-year free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in May but we haven’t heard much from him in the early goings of NFL Training Camp.
Nick Sirianni coached Pascal in Indianapolis for three seasons and was super excited to get him to Philadelphia once the 27-year-old hit free agency. With the Colts, Pascal had back-to-back campaigns with 600+ yards prior to last season when he caught just 38 passes for 384 yards in 2021 in an offense that was heavily reliant on RB Jonathan Taylor.
Entering camp this season, it was thought to be a battle for the slot WR between Pascal and Quez Watkins, however we haven’t seen or heard much from Pascal due to a battle with food poisoning.
Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philly wrote about Zach Pascal’s Battle with Food Poisoning
“I was throwing up like crazy,” Zach Pascal said. “Like 50 times. I couldn’t stop throwing up.”
Pascal, who signed a one-year free agent contract with the Eagles in May, came down with food poisoning before the Eagles began training camp, thought he was getting better, took a turn for the worse late last week, found himself in the hospital for four days, underwent a procedure while he was there and finally was well enough to practice on a limited basis on Thursday.
“Still trying to recover from everything,” he said. “My body is still recovering from that, so trying to take it slow starting out.”
“I couldn’t do anything,” he said after practice Thursday. “I couldn’t focus. I couldn’t focus at all. If I sipped some water I was throwing up. If I moved wrong I was throwing up. Anything I did.”
Pretty odd case of food poisoning. Throwing up 50 TIMES seems like a lot and then to land yourself in the hospital for four days because of it, is just scary stuff. Pascal continued to say that he never even had food poisoning before this year and now he’s had it twice, both of which have been long, drawn-out, difficult ordeals.
More from NBC Sports Philly:
“I had it baaaaad. They said I had bacteria in my stomach. I couldn’t keep anything down. Water, that’s the purest form of liquid, it’s coming right back up. My girlfriend took care of me. She’s never seen me like that.”
Jesus Christ, man. Luckily it’s still early August and there’s plenty of time for Pascal to get back to work with the Eagles offense before the start of the regular season.
