DeAnthony Melton shows off his athleticism during an open gym run over the weekend

We are in the dog days of the NBA offseason and there are plenty of workout videos and pickup game clips from players circulating around the internet. One that you might have missed, would be from DeAnthony Melton, the 76ers new guard that they acquired during the NBA draft.
Full disclosure, I know that the city of Philadelphia is so sick and tired of offseason workout videos, but given the fact that Melton is new in town and a lot of people may not have gotten to see him play a lot, I feel like it’s necessary to share.Â
Melton was participating in an open gym run organized by developmental coach Olin Simplis.Â

The 76ers acquired guard DeAnthony Melton from Memphis for the No. 23 overall pick and Danny Green during the NBA Draft. Melton, 24, is a former second-round selection who was originally drafted by Sixers president Daryl Morey in Houston. Four years later, he’s now back with Morey in Philadelphia, and will definitely be an upgrade to the bench that lacked depth last season.
In 2022, Melton posted career-highs in points per game (10.8) and rebounds per game (4.5). He’s a strong, versatile player who can play both guard positions and defend. Melton has shot 39% from three on just under five attempts/game over the last two seasons.
