Phillies top prospect Andrew Painter extends scoreless streak to 20 innings

Phillies top prospect Andrew Painter tossed 7-scoreless innings on a career high 93 pitches in his start against Greensboro on Saturday night to extend his scoreless streak to 20 innings.
The 13th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft allowed four hits and a walk while striking out 8 Greensboro hitters in his eighth start since being promoted to A+ Jersey Shore. Since being promoted on June 6th, Painter has only allowed earned runs in two of his starts, while dropping his ERA to a dominant 0.98.

Before the trade deadline, Dave Dombrowski had a list of Phillies prospects that were deemed untouchable. Five prospects were on the list with two of them were ultimately traded.
Logan O’Hoppe was sent to the Los Angeles Angels for centerfielder Brandon Marsh, and Ben Brown was dealt to Chicago for reliever David Robertson.Â
Andrew Painter, Mick Abel, and Griff McGarry, three rotation prospects remained, and continue to show promise in the Phillies minor league system.
