The Philadelphia 76ers dropped a new post on Twitter today hinting at the release of a new jersey for the 2022-23 season.
Philadelphia 76ers tease new jersey for the 2022-23 season
Back in late February, there were a ton of 2022-23 City Edition uniforms leaked on social media, with the 76ers jersey included. Hate to break it to everyone, but typically when these leaks happen, they always are proved to be accurate.
While the leaked jersey could just be an initial mock up with more details to come, it looks like the Nike City Edition jersey for the 2022-23 season will feature “Brotherly Love” across the front. Brotherly Love has been featured on the tag of 76ers jerseys for the past few years and it looks like it’s making the move to the front of the jersey..
Yes, that means much like the Eagles Kelly Green jerseys, Philadelphia sports fans will have to wait at least another year before the opportunity to get the Allen Iverson-era black jerseys back with the 76ers.
If you look at a few posts across Sixers fan accounts, the clues in the ball listed above make sense and align with the Brotherly Love design that was leaked above.
Sixers Hoop Instagram account broke down all the details of the 76ers post today (Scroll Right):
- LOVE Sculpture
- Ben Franklin
- City Hall
- Championship Patch
- Philadelphia Jerseys of the Past
- Magic Gardens
- Liberty Bell
- Allen Iverson
All signs point to Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly Love. Hopefully the initial leaks will have some more detail involved. The all-white, scripted font, and red isn’t quite enough to move the needle this year. Need a little bit more effort from the 76ers. Please.
