Roster Moves: Phillies move Bryce Harper, Brandon Marsh to Injured List, claim Toronto Blue Jays outfielder off waivers

A few roster updates from the Philadelphia Phillies ahead of their four-game weekend series against the New York Mets tomorrow.
The Phillies have claimed outfielder Bradley Zimmer off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays. To make room for Zimmer, the Phillies have also transferred Bryce Harper to the 60-Day IL and sent Brandon Marsh to the 10-Day IL, retro to August 17th.
Phillies Roster Moves
Yesterday, it was announced that Bryce Harper would begin his rehab assignment in Triple-A Lehigh Valley next Tuesday. Harper will be eligible to come off the 60-Day IL next Thursday.
We were all waiting to hear news on Brandon Marsh after he injured his knee and ankle attempted to rob a home run in Cincinnati earlier this week. Now, it looks like Marsh will be heading to the 10-Day IL.
Bradley Zimmer was DFA’d by the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this week and then ultimately hit the waiver wire. Zimmer is nothing to write home about, only having 76 at-bats at the MLB level this season and slashing .105/.209/.446 with two home runs and three RBI.
The Phillies desperately needed some outfield depth, given the fact that their farm system is depleted of options in centerfield. I guess the idea is that Zimmer will hold them over until Marsh returns, with Matt Vierling starting in the meantime.
Kyle Schwarber is also expected to return to the Phillies lineup tomorrow for the series against the Mets at Citizens Bank Park.
